BioBharati LifeScience (BBL) Private Limited Company has been instituted in Kolkata to play a key role in Indian science by manufacturing research reagents and supplying them to researchers on time. Current waiting period of minimum two weeks to over six weeks can be easily reduced to two to four days. BioBharati promises to provide highest quality research products to academic and non-academic research communities in India and abroad. An aim of the company is to understand the needs of a scientist as a guideline for product development. Research laboratories can purchase reagents from BioBharati in Indian rupees at a competitive price. BioBharati also aims to create jobs for young talented graduates and Ph.Ds in the areas of biological sciences and chemistry. The eastern region of the country has a long tradition of training qualified young people, but lacks organized biotechnological company. BioBharati hopes to offer opportunities for them and others in India. BioBharati partners with the Department of Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering. In addition, BioBharati works closely with scientists in the Departments of Biochemistry and Microbiology Indian Institute of Chemical Biology and Bose Institute. The research and manufacturing unit of BioBharati is housed in the Kolkata Biotech Park in Sector-V in Kolkata and is using the facility set up by the West Bengal Biotech Development Corporation Ltd (A Govt. of West Bengal undertaking)
